Stage Aurora has partnered with MOCA to present SINNER MAN by Roumel Reaux a one-act play with music. Inspired by the painting “Sinner Man” by the African-American artist Benny Andrews that is a part of Tradition Redefined: The Larry and Brenda Thompson Collection of African-American Art, now on exhibit at MOCA thru August 29th.
Stage Aurora will bring the painting to life.
In four scenes, SINNER MAN depicts four different men confronted with sins they have committed. The play blends American Negro Spirituals, Gospel, Blues, and Show tunes, which are all performed a cappella.
Tickets: $15 and include admission to the Tradition Redefined: The Larry and Brenda Thompson Collection of African American Art.

Pleasant is a Jacksonville native. He served 23 years in the Navy before becoming an engineer with the St. Marys Railroad. “I have had a keen interest in trains and railroading since I was a child and running a locomotive is the realization of a lifelong dream,” said Pleasant.
